The National Living Wage in the United Kingdom has been revised, effective April 1, 2025. The new national living and minimum wage rates are increased as follows:
- For adult rate: 21 years and older (national living wage, NLW), from £11.44 to £12.21 per hour;
- For development rate: 18-20 years, from £8.60 to £10.00 per hour;
- For youth rate: under 18 years, from £6.40 to £7.55 per hour; and
- For apprentices rate: under 19 years or in the first year of training, from £6.40 to £7.55 per hour.
The national living wage rates are applicable to workers 21 years and above. The minimum wage rates are applicable to workers 20 years and under. For more information on changes, please refer to the minimum wage pages:
