  • The rates as set for the statutory minimum wage are based on a full working week. This usually is 36, 38 or 40 hours a week and it depends in the sector. For example, a 38-hour full-time working week applies in the hospitality and retail trade.


The minimum wage age has been set at 21 years.

For employees between the ages of 18 and 20, with an employment contract based on the vocational learning pathway (BBL), alternative levels apply. For students in the BBL from 15 to 17 years and from 21 years, the regular minimum (youth) wage applies.
