Working hours

- Monthly wage are fixed on the basis of number of working hours per day and per week which is 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. According to Bangladesh Labour Act 2006, monthly minimum wage is determined by working hours per week. The normal working hours are 08 hours a day and 48 hours a week.
Overtime is paid at One and Half times the normal hourly rate of wage.
Holiday pay for work on weekends and public holidays is paid for at a higher rate 1 1/2 times the daily rate or double the rate of remuneration.

The minimum monthly wage is determined based on daily and weekly work hours, which is 8 hours daily and 40 hours per week. According to Labor Act 2006, the monthly minimum wage is determined based on the working hours per week.
