The minimum wage has been revised in Panama from 16 January 2024. The per-hour minimum wages are increased for the following categories:
- Agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry, aquaculture, fishing, agribusiness;
- Quarrying (national);
- Manufacturing industries;
- Supply of electricity, gas, steam, air conditioning (national);
- Water supply, sewerage, waste management and sanitation activities (national) Building;
- Retail, wholesale and commissions;
- Free zones, special economic zones;
- Hotels and restaurants;
- Transportation, storage, deposits and mail;
- Information and communication (national);
- Real estate, financial and insurance activities (national);
- Administrative activities and support services (national);
- Professional, scientific and technical activities (national);
- Teaching (administrative staff);
- Social services and related to human health;
- Arts, training and creativity (national);
- Other service activities;
- Activities of extraterritorial organizations and bodies (national); and
- Domestic services.
