Minimum Wage Increased in Panama from 16 January 2024 - February 03, 2024

The minimum wage has been revised in Panama from 16 January 2024. The per-hour minimum wages are increased for the following categories:

  • Agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry, aquaculture, fishing, agribusiness;
  • Quarrying (national);
  • Manufacturing industries;
  • Supply of electricity, gas, steam, air conditioning (national);
  • Water supply, sewerage, waste management and sanitation activities (national) Building;
  • Retail, wholesale and commissions;
  • Free zones, special economic zones;
  • Hotels and restaurants;
  • Transportation, storage, deposits and mail;
  • Information and communication (national);
  • Real estate, financial and insurance activities (national); 
  • Administrative activities and support services (national);
  • Professional, scientific and technical activities (national);
  • Teaching (administrative staff);
  • Social services and related to human health;
  • Arts, training and creativity (national);
  • Other service activities;
  • Activities of extraterritorial organizations and bodies (national); and 
  • Domestic services.
