Minimum wages have been revised in Ecuador with effect from 01 January 2022. The minimum wages are increased for the following categories:
- Agriculture and plantations;
- Production of poultry, livestock and other animal species, services related to livestock production;
- Fishing, aquaculture and mariculture;
- Mining quarries and deposits;
- Food processing (includes agro-industry);
- Industrial, pharmaceutical and chemical products;
- Industrial production of beverages and tobacco;
- Metalworking;
- Textile products, leather and footwear;
- Car repair and maintenance workshops, automotive assembly, manufacturing of parts and bodies, commercialization of vehicles, automotive, bodies, and parts;
- Technology: hardware and software (includes ICT);
- Electricity, gas and water;
- Construction and architectural technical services, operators of heavy equipment: road, excavation, construction, industry and other;
- Wholesale and retail trade, retail fuel sales;
- Tourism and catering;
- Financial services;
- Service-type activities;
- Teaching;
- Health activities: hospitals, sanatoriums, clinics, laboratories and social assistance institutions;
- Community activities; and
- Storage and logistics transport.
