Minimum Wage Updated in Ecuador from 01 January 2022 - July 8, 2022

Minimum wages have been revised in Ecuador with effect from 01 January 2022. The minimum wages are increased for the following categories:

  • Agriculture and plantations;
  • Production of poultry, livestock and other animal species, services related to livestock production;
  • Fishing, aquaculture and mariculture;
  • Mining quarries and deposits;
  • Food processing (includes agro-industry);
  • Industrial, pharmaceutical and chemical products;
  • Industrial production of beverages and tobacco;
  • Metalworking;
  • Textile products, leather and footwear;
  • Car repair and maintenance workshops, automotive assembly, manufacturing of parts and bodies, commercialization of vehicles, automotive, bodies, and parts;
  • Technology: hardware and software (includes ICT);
  • Electricity, gas and water;
  • Construction and architectural technical services, operators of heavy equipment: road, excavation, construction, industry and other;
  • Wholesale and retail trade, retail fuel sales;
  • Tourism and catering;
  • Financial services;
  • Service-type activities;
  • Teaching;
  • Health activities: hospitals, sanatoriums, clinics, laboratories and social assistance institutions;
  • Community activities; and
  • Storage and logistics transport.
