Minimum Wage Increased in Costa Rica by 2.09% from 01 January 2022 - December 31, 2021

The minimum wage has been revised in Costa Rica from 01 January 2022. The minimum wage has been increased based on skill/education level as follows:

  • For unskilled workers, from CRC10,652.48 to CRC 10,875.11per day
  • For semi-skilled workers, from CRC11,583.80 to CRC11,825.90 per day
  • For skilled workers, from CRC11,797.05 to CRC12,043.60 per day
  • For specialised workers, from CRC13,914.32 to CRC14,205.12 per day
  • For Generic unskilled workers, from CRC317,915.58to CRC324,560.01per month
  • For General semi-skilled workers, from CRC342,027.40 to CRC349,175.77 per month
  • For Generic skilled workers, from CRC359,544.27 to CRC367,058.74 359544.27 per month
  • For General highly skilled, from CRC403,764.18 to CRC412,202.85 per month
  • For Technical worker - Diversified Education, from CRC376,776.77 to CRC384,651.40 per month
  • For Technical worker - Superior Education, from CRC464,335.93 to CRC474,040.55 per month
  • For Technical worker - Diploma of Higher Education, from CRC501,500.15 to CRC511,981.50 per month
  • For Technical worker - Bachelors University, from CRC568,819.86 to CRC 580,708.19 per month
  • For Technical worker - University Graduate, from CRC682,607.23to CRC696,873.72 per month
  • For Superior Specialization workers, from CRC21,593.60 to CRC22,044.90 per day
