Minimum Wage in four states of USA has been increased. The new rate comes into effect from 1 July 2020.
These include District of Columbia, Cook County (Illinois), Nevada, and Oregon.
The new hourly wage rate in District of Columbia for all except tipped workers is $15 while for tipped workers, the minimum wage rate is $5. In Cook County (Illinois), the hourly wage rate is $13 for all except tipped workers. The hourly rate for tipped workers is $5. In Nevada, the minimum hourly wage for those receiving health benefits is $8. For those not receiving such health benefits, the hourly wage rate is $9.
In Oregon, the new hourly wage rate is $11.50 in non-urban areas, $12.00 in standard counties, and $13.25 in the Portland metro area.
