Unite the Union confirmed that workers at Collins Aerospace in Kilkeel have voted for industrial action. Employees are demanding a substantial cost-of-living pay increase and the preservation of skill differentials between grades. Management’s current offer, which workers describe as below inflation, has been rejected. Unite said that without progress 'strike action will commence within days.' The dispute highlights growing unrest in the manufacturing sector, where unions argue companies with strong profits are unwilling to share gains with staff.
