Turkey - Strike threat results in agreement at metal company - October 31, 2025

Union Birleşik Metal‑İş announced that after a looming strike at the Anadolu Döküm plant (scheduled 30 October) an agreement was reached with the employer. The newly-signed collective agreement covers wage increases, improved working conditions and social rights. Following the employer's failure to respond positively to workers' demands during the negotiations, which had been ongoing for months and reached a critical stage, the General Executive Board of Birleşik Metal-İŞ decided to go on strike on 30 October 2025. As a result of this pressure and the members' resolute stance, an agreement was reached minutes before the strike began.
