Switzerland - New collective agreement for bakery and confectionery - June 30, 2025

The Federal Council has declared the collective agreement for bakery and confectionery negotiated by the social partners in spring 2024 generally binding. The new agreement will enter into force on 1 July 2025. According to the Swiss Bakery and Confectionery Trade Association, the new collective agreement is a major step in the right direction to make the industry more attractive again. The trade association is part of the Hotel & Gastro Union employee organization, which advocates for improved working conditions for apprentices, unskilled workers, and trained professionals.
