Sweden - Shorter working hours and better conditions in the cultural and non-profit sector - June 30, 2025

Trade union Unionen and the Employers' Alliance have signed new collective agreements for the areas Non-profit and idea-based organizations and Experience and culture. This means that an additional 2,000 of Unionen’s members will receive fair conditions. The total salary cap for 1 May 2026 will be 2.8%. The reduction in working hours is seen as an important victory for Unionen. It is a recognition of the value that the workers create every day in the cultural, experience and non-profit sectors. Another important improvement is the possibility of shorter leave with pay for socially important healthcare contacts during working hours in cases where the business allows it.
