Sweden - New agreement for the communications industry - June 30, 2025

Union Seko has agreed with Almega on a new agreement for the communications industry. A big victory for the union is that the concept of overtime is no longer in the agreement. This means that part-time employees receive the same compensation for overtime as full-time employees. The agreement follows the industry's collective agreement, the so-called "mark". It applies from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2027. The total agreement value is 6.4%. The agreement also includes a low-wage initiative through the so-called "knee model", where members with lower salaries collect a higher percentage than those with higher salaries. The demand for reduced working hours was on the table in the negotiations but without ending in any solution. All parties agree that the issue should be returned to the 2027 collective agreement.
