Sweden - New agreement for teachers - May 31, 2025

Employers’ organizations SKR and Sobona and the Swedish Teachers' Union have agreed on a new agreement. The parties have also signed an agreement in principle where negotiations on teachers' working hours will resume in 2026. The agreement follows the industrial agreement's mark of 6.4% and the agreement period runs until 31 March 2027. This means that salaries will increase at the collective level by 3.4% on 1 April 2025 and by 3% on 1 April 2026.The agreement covers approximately 220,000 employees in municipalities, regions and municipal companies. The parties are tightening up several provisions aimed at ensuring that municipalities and regions are able to attract, retain and develop employees.
