Negotiations on new collective agreements for industry were still ongoing late on the evening of 31 March when the old agreements expired. If unions and employers cannot agree, there is a risk of conflict. Unions and employers in industry have been negotiating all weekend with the goal of being ready by 31 March at the latest. Very little has been leaked about what has been discussed in the negotiation rooms at the employers' premises in Stockholm. If no new agreements are in place by 1 April, a “no-agreement state” will enter into force. The union can then give notice of strike action.
