Vardforbundet union, which represents healthcare professionals including nurses, midwives and biomedical analysts, secured a two-year agreement starting in April 2025. It delivers a 6.4% pay increase over two years and brings significant improvements in scheduling and compensation rules. It also includes better overtime and night work compensation, and ensures that part-time workers receive overtime pay when exceeding their regular hours. The agreement also restarts cooperation with employers on competence development and sustainable scheduling through the Competence Commission, reaffirming the unions’ commitment to long-term improvements in public service professions.
