After more than three weeks of determined strike action, trade unionists and employees of GeLiMa, a.s. in Liptovský Mikuláš successfully fulfilled their demands. An agreement was reached that improves working conditions and stabilizes employment in the region. This is the longest-lasting strike in the modern history of the country. The basic organization of the Trade Union of Agricultural Workers in Slovakia at GeLiMa a.s. Liptovský Mikuláš launched a sharp strike in front of the company gates on 26 June 2025. After intensive negotiations, representatives of the trade union and the management of GeLiMa, a.s. agreed on all points, including the disputed wage conditions. The agreement includes an increase in the basic gross wage by € 120, retroactively from 1 January 2025. At the same time, the 13th month salary remains unchanged. There is also a significant improvement in remuneration for work in difficult conditions - bonuses for difficult work performance are increasing by 8%.
