Portugal - Union demands minimum wage increase of 5% - October 31, 2025

UGT union proposes a minimum 5% salary increase for both private and public sectors, ensuring the minimum remuneration level exceeds the national minimum wage, specifically at least €1,000, as stated in the 2025-2026 claim proposal approved at the national secretariat meeting. The UGT also advocates for the reassessment of the benchmarks in the tripartite agreement signed under social consultation in 2024 and suggests that the national minimum wage should rise from the current €870 to €950 next year.
