Poland - Strike at home appliances factory - May 31, 2025

The OPZZ Trade Union at Bitron Appliance Poland sp. requested the management on 21 January to change the terms of employment of employees. The last meeting with the employer took place on 26 May this year. Due to the lack of acceptance of any of the presented demands, the unionists announced a strike, which took place on 28 May. The union demand includes an increase of the basic salary for production employees by PLN 7 (€ 1.65) per hour and an increase from 1 January 2025 in the basic salary of administrative, indirect and production employees of PLN 1,008 (€ 237), and increase in the allowance for work on Saturdays and Sundays, in order to appropriately reward employees for work on days free from standard working hours.
