Netherlands - Union members support new agreement for rail workers - September 30, 2025

After prolonged conflict and multiple strikes, the unions and rail operator NS have reached a collective agreement. Member votes showed strong support: 89% of FNV union members and 84 % of VVMC union members ratified the agreement. Under the new agreement, wages increase 4% as of 1 March 2025, and further increases of 3.5% (or 3% in higher pay groups) apply in the next year. The end of strikes may signal renewed stability in rail labour relations.
