Netherlands - New agreement for motor vehicles trade secures wage increase of 10.8% - June 30, 2025

The unions and the employers’ association in motor vehicles trade and repair, BOVAG, have reached a negotiation result. The negotiations took more than half a year and the unions organised a series of strikes. As result employers increased their wage offer from 2.3% to an average of 3.9% per year. In the new collective agreement, with a term of 33 months (1 February 2025 to 31 October 2027), wages will increase in several steps by a total of 10.8%: 2.2% on 1 June 2023, 1.3% on 1 October 2025, € 128 on 1 February 2026, 2.5% on 1 January 2027, and 1.3% on 1 May 2027.  This collective agreement compensates for inflation and will result in an increase of purchasing power.
