After four intensive rounds of negotiations, the FNV trade union has reached an agreement with the Employers' Association for Passenger and Baggage Handling in Aviation (WPBL) on a new collective agreement. The negotiated agreement includes a series of improvements for employees at airports. The collective agreement includes a total pay increase of 7% over the next two years, in three steps: 2% in January 2026, 2% in July 2026, and 3% in January 2027. In addition, the agreement also stipulates an increase in the nighttime surcharge to 40%. The public transport travel allowance will also increase. The scheme that allows older employees to work fewer hours will be improved. If the union members vote in favour of the new collective agreement, it will take effect on 1 July and will run for 24 months.
