After the term of the current board of the largest union FNV ends on 7 March, an interim board will be appointed until a new board is elected. This is the result of an agreement between the board and the members parliament of the union, after a conflict arose on social safety within the union. This resulted from rumours about one of the two candidates for the presidency of the union. On 10 February, the staff of the union went on strike, demanding that the current board steps down and the elections of the president are postponed. The staff drew attention to various abuses, including a working environment in which employees are put under pressure, confidential information that is misused and internal investigations into employees have been initiated without consultation.
