Netherlands - Agreement in public transport - May 31, 2025

The wages of employees in regional public transport will increase by more than 6% this year. This was agreed by unions FNV Regional Transport and CNV and the Association of Public Transport Employers (VWOV) on 20 May. The new collective agreement for Public Transport will come into effect retroactively on 1 April 2025 and will run until 30 June 2026. During this period, wages will increase by a total of 6.5%. This amounts to an average wage increase of more than 5% per year. As of 1 April 2025, wages will increase by 1.5%. A second wage increase of 3% will follow on 1 October 2025. On 1 April 2026, another 2% will be added. After each extra late shift there will be a rest period of at least 12 hours. Overtime pay for part-timers will improve and the youth wage will be abolished.
