Netherlands - 5.5% pay increase for department store staff - April 30, 2025

Employees of luxury department store De Bijenkorf will get 5.5% more in the coming two years. A modest salary increase, but the union FNV still sees it as a victory. Because the wages of many employees who have worked at the department store for more than five years will increase even more. This is the result of the negotiations between the unions FNV and CNV with the management of the store. A new wage structure means that experienced employees can count on salary increases of 13% to even 28%. Many of them currently earn the minimum wage. Apart from the new wage structure, wages at De Bijenkorf will increase by 3% on 1 May, 2025, and by 2.5% on 1 May, 2026.
