HSBC Malta bank employees, under directive of the Malta Union of Bank Employees (MUBE), initiated a sit‑in strike, logging off all communication systems and refraining from meetings or duties. The strike is linked to the bank’s planned sale to CrediaBank; the union is demanding terminal benefits worth € 50–60 million, arguing the transfer triggers compensation under their collective agreement.
