The Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia (LBAS) calls for a review of working time regulations and for a reduction of weekly working hours from 40 to 38 hours without pay cuts. LBAS has sent a letter to the Ministry of Welfare asking that this issue be urgently discussed at a meeting of the Tripartite Labour Sub-Council. The trade unions consider that the terms and conditions of employment should be adapted to the labour market, technological developments, and the requirements of employees. The issue of reducing working time has been raised on several occasions.
