Unions, including FP CGIL, CISL FP, Fisascat CISL, UIL FPL, and Uiltucs, have announced a full-day strike on 31 October for approximately 10,800 workers covered by the ANASTE collective agreement. The walkout follows the failure of a conciliation procedure and rejection of a renewal deal regarded as regressive on both pay and conditions. ANASTE represents private nursing homes, long-term care and rehabilitation facilities. For the upcoming strike, unions are fighting for equal treatment, citing that renewals signed in the same sector deliver pay increases of 10.4% to 12.6%. These same agreements also provide significant regulatory improvements on illness, parenting, welfare, fourteenth monthly and counter to harassment and gender-based violence.
