Hungary - Wild cat strike by waste collection workers - September 30, 2025

Municipal waste collection workers in Budapest launched a spontaneous “wildcat” strike at the Mohu company’s Ecseri Street facility. The protest came despite an existing collective agreement for 2025, which the employer claims makes the walkout illegal. Mohu officials reported that no negotiating partner had been designated by the workers, but the firm reiterated it is ready to resume talks immediately to safeguard essential services.
