Teleperformance employees, who provide customer service for tech giants like Apple, Google, and Netflix, are on strike. They accuse their employer of retaliating against union efforts, excessively monitoring them, and even denying them bathroom breaks. The strike involves around 12,000 workers at Teleperformance’s call centres, which cater to over 140 markets worldwide in 43 languages. Many workers demand better working conditions, including permanent contracts, fair wages, job security, and reduced working hours. The dispute began in early 2024 when workers pushed for a collective agreement due to stagnant wages since 2010 and increasing pressure to meet productivity targets.
