Germany - Warning strikes at postal company - January 31, 2025

In the collective bargaining dispute with postal company Deutsche Post AG, the union ver.di is increasing the pressure and called again for all-day warning strikes in selected parcel centers on 30 January 2025. Earlier in January, around 13,000 delivery workers had already gone on strike, which led to significant delays in letter and parcel deliveries. ver.di criticizes the employers' side: "There was hardly any movement in the negotiations. Employees need noticeable wage increases in order to be able to cope with the high cost of living." ver.di is demanding a 7% wage increase for a contract term of twelve months and additional vacation days. The third round of negotiations is scheduled for 12 and 13 February 2025.
