The ver.di union has reached an agreement in the first round of negotiations for seaports. Hourly wages for the approximately 11,000 employees will increase by 3.1% starting 1 August 2025. In addition, employees in container handling operations will receive a one-off payment of € 1,800 in August 2025, and employees in conventional handling operations € 1,200. Starting 1 January 2026, the flat-rate allowance for container handling operations will also increase by € 600 to € 4,384 annually. ver.di members can also look forward to an additional day off per year.
