The union IG BAU has achieved a significant victory in the collective bargaining round for the natural stone industry in North Rhine-Westphalia. After intensive negotiations, a collective agreement with noticeable wage increases was reached. Wages and salaries will increase in two stages: 2.8% from 1 July 2025, and 3.3% from 1 August 2026. In addition, all employees will receive a one-time payment of € 160, and trainees will receive € 50. Payment is subject to an existing employment or training relationship as of 1 June 2025; payment will be made no later than with the July 2025 payroll. The new collective agreement has a term of 24 months. Training wages will also be increased. IG BAU calls this a "hard-fought but successful result" and thanks the members of the collective bargaining committee for their efforts.
