Germany - Higher pay for employees in the sheet metal packaging industry - January 31, 2025

Union IG Metall has reached a collective agreement for the 2,500 employees nationwide in the sheet metal packaging industry. From June 2025, employees will receive 2% more pay. One year later, from June 2026, there will be another 3.1% pay increase. Before that, by April 2025 at the latest, there will be a special payment of € 600. From January 2025, trainees will receive € 140 more per month. From June 2026, they will also receive 3.1% more pay. There are further improvements: additional payments for everyone will increase to 22% from 2026. Employees will be able to take more time off in the future. The collective agreement runs until the end of 2026.
