Germany - Collective bargaining breakthrough for hospitals - April 30, 2025

The union ver.di has reached a collective agreement for the approximately 21,000 employees covered by the Helios hospitals' collective agreement. In the fourth round of negotiations the bargaining parties agreed on a comprehensive package with noticeable improvements: Wages will increase in two steps by a total of 6% – initially by 3% (at least € 110) retroactively from 1 March 2025, with the second step following in May 2026. Trainees will also benefit: their pay will increase by a total of €150. Shift work bonuses will be significantly increased – to up to € 200 per month from June 2025, and even to up to € 250 from October 2026. In addition, the annual bonus will be regulated uniformly from 2028: all employees will receive 90% of their monthly salary as a bonus. The collective agreement is scheduled to run until 31 March, 2027.
