In the collective bargaining dispute involving approximately 30,000 ground handling employees at German airports, the collective bargaining parties have reached a settlement recommendation through arbitration proceedings. The recommendation applies to the Association of Municipal Employers' Associations (VKA), the Employers' Association of Ground Handling Providers in Air Transport (ABL), and the trade union ver.di. The proposed collective bargaining package provides, among other things, for a wage increase of 3% (at least € 110) starting in April 2025 and a further increase of € 35 plus 2.8% starting in May 2026. Apprentices will also benefit: their salaries will increase by € 75 each. In addition, new shift allowances, special payments of € 200 each in 2025 and 2026, and an additional vacation day starting in 2027 are planned. The term of the collective agreement is to be extended until 31 March 2027.
