After five unsuccessful rounds of negotiations, the union NGG and the Federal Association of System Catering (BdS), mediated by an arbitrator, agreed on a new collective agreement on 12 March. The agreement, which runs until 31 December 2026, provides for wage increases by 9.8% to 18.73% depending on the pay group. For the lower pay scales, this means they will earn at least € 14.30 per hour in October 2026. The Federal Association of System Catering (BdS) accepted and signed the arbitration award on 13 March. The agreement applies to 120,000 workers in companies including McDonald’s, Burger Kind and Nordsee und Co.
