France - Strike by air traffic controllers - August 31, 2025

A major air traffic control (ATC) strike caused widespread disruption across the country and affected air travel throughout Europe. The industrial action, taking place on 3-4 July 2025, coincided with the start of the school summer holidays, one of the busiest travel periods of the year. The strike is led by the UNSA-ICNA union, the second-largest ATC union, and is supported by USAC-CGT, another key union. The protest centers on demands for better pay, increased staffing, and improved management practices. The country’s largest ATC union, SNCTA, is not participating in this strike,.
