France - Gender equality index in companies remains high but is under threat - March 31, 2025

The Labour ministry has published the seventh annual professional equality index, which has been weakened by its complexity and the upcoming entry into force of the European directive on pay transparency. The gender equality index improved very slightly between 2024 and 2025, but 98% of employers still have work to do, according to the Ministry of Labour. In 2024, the companies concerned scored 88.5 out of 100 despite a 14% pay gap between all women and men in full-time employment.
