On 13 October 2025 a strike ended at the packaging manufacturer Huhtamäki Foodservice Nordic in Hämeenlinna, which had begun 1 October over a dispute about which collective agreement should apply. The employer wanted to move from the company-specific agreement to the plastics industry collective agreement. The paper union Paperiliitto accused the employer of “contract shopping”, highlighting how sectoral agreements and employer strategies remain key to collective bargaining.
