State employees are set to receive a 7.8% increase in their pay packets over the next three years, following the conclusion of negotiations between unions and employer groups in the previous week. The state workers — totalling some 80,000 people — were represented in the talks by the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals (Juko), the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors (JHL), and the Trade Union Pro, while the Office for the Government as Employer (VTML) represented employers in the dispute. The deal must still be ratified by all the boards of the respective unions and the employer representatives.
