Estonia - Unions demand suspension of new law on flexible working hours - March 31, 2025

The Government approved amendments to the Employment Contracts Act, which create an opportunity for employees and employers to agree on more flexible working hours. Trade unions see a threat in flexible working hours. The Estonian Trade Union Confederation wants to suspend the procedure for the draft Employment Contracts Act and start negotiations to find a compromise. The reason is the planned changes to flexible working hours, which may leave employees at the discretion of the employer, according to the Estonian Trade Union Confederation.
