Czechia - Union rejects violation of social dialogue - January 31, 2025

The Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions (ČMKOS) objects to the way social dialogue is conducted in the case of the possibility of early retirement. Although it directly affects employees whose interests are defended by ČMKOS, the first amendment to the bill was to exclude category 3 from the possibility of early retirement. At the same time, the Government promised that a proposal to provide benefits to this group of employees would be prepared by the end of 2024. Subsequently, in early 2025, the unions learned from the media that the Government had already approved the draft solution and was ready to submit the proposal to the legislative process without discussing it with employee representatives - the unions. Such a procedure is unacceptable for the trade union.
