Czechia - Employers and workers divided on pay - May 31, 2025

A majority of employers (80%) say their wage bill has risen over the past year but only half of the employees say they actually received a pay increase, a survey has found. While the survey data shows that real wages are rising in the country, almost 50% of employees still live pay cheque to pay cheque, according to the survey, which polled 1,500 workers and 269 employers. The differences in what employers claim and what employees perceive may be caused by the poor communication of companies towards their people. The survey found that 57% of white-collar workers were more likely to have received a pay rise over the past year, compared to 49% of blue-collar employees. Meanwhile, a third of survey respondents said they planned to ask for a wage increase in 2025.
