Cyprus - No agreement on Cost-of Living Allowance - October 31, 2025

After six‑hour marathon talks, social partners failed to reach a final agreement on the Cost‑of‑Living Allowance (CoLA), though they described discussions as productive and expect a framework agreement soon. Unions criticised the Government’s new “Cost‑of‑Living Allowance (CoLA) for all” framework as vague and ill‑timed. The draft proposes full restoration of CoLA over 18 months, but with a cap at inflation of 4%. Employers also expressed concern at the plan.
