Croatia - Warning strike at construction company - April 30, 2025

The Trade Union of Utilities, Transport and Related Activities of Croatia (SKPH) held a one-hour warning strike at the Split-based construction company STANO-UPRAV. In September 2024, SKPH initiated collective negotiations to conclude a collective agreement and increase workers' salaries. Since the employer did not accept the union's demands for a salary increase and conclusion of a collective agreement, a conciliation procedure was initiated before the Economic and Social Council in November, which ended unsuccessfully. After the unsuccessful conciliation procedure, a personal declaration was held on whether to accept the initiative to organize a warning strike, at which more than 80% of the members declared themselves in favour of the strike.
