The Government adopted a regulation fixing the gross minimum wage for 2026 at €1,050 — up €80 from 2025’s level. Union federations SSSH, MHS and NHS expressed dissatisfaction, noting the rise falls short of their target (€1,130) and remains below a wage level they deem adequate for decent living standards. Employers maintain this amount was necessary to preserve competitiveness.
