Bulgaria - Protest for decent wages - March 31, 2025

The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) organized a protest under the motto "We want a visible increase in wages with Budget 2025”. The union insists on raising wages in sectors that are underfunded, as well as in sectors in which pay disparities are increasing. Unions demand that an additional 250 million leva (€ 128 million) be provided in the 2025 budget, which will allow for an increase in salaries in public institutes, such as the National Social Security Institute, the Social Assistance Agency, the Employment Agency, the National Revenue Agency, the National Health Insurance Fund and the Bulgarian State Railways.
