The unions vida and GPA have concluded a new collective agreement for the approximately 9,600 employees of the fast-food company McDonald's. It applies to both blue-collar and white-collar employees. The new agreement not only brings significant wage increases but also a better work-life balance – a milestone for employees in the system catering industry. Wages will increase by 3.9%. Apprentices will benefit from an average increase of 4.1%. The new collective agreement introduces a number of work-friendly provisions: more Sundays off starting July 2024, an additional free day for all employees, 30% night shift premium for work between midnight and 6 a.m.
