Wage and salary negotiations for the approximately 60,000 employees in the electrical and electronics industry lasted a full eleven weeks. Despite all the difficulties, a fair wage and salary increase was achieved by the unions PRO-GE and GPA. Low- and middle-income groups in particular benefit from permanent inflation compensation. Minimum wages and basic salaries, as well as apprentice wages, will increase by 3%. Collectively agreed allowances and expense allowances will also be increased by 3%. Actual wages and salaries will be increased retroactively by 2.75%, up to a maximum of € 115, effective 1 May. Furthermore, a recession option was agreed upon for companies experiencing serious economic difficulties. If a company has been struggling with a negative EBIT for the past two years or experienced a loss of more than 2% in the last fiscal year, part of the actual increase will then be converted into additional paid time off and/or a lump sum payment.
