Austria - New agreement for civil servants - October 31, 2025

The federal Government and the public service unions GÖD and Younion have reached a three-year pay agreement for 2026–2028, preventing the planned wage freeze in 2027 and 2028. The agreement provides a 3.3% pay rise from July 2026 to July 2027, followed by a 1% increase in both 2027 and 2028. These will be supplemented by fixed monthly amounts that are socially graded to benefit those on lower salaries. Overall, the agreement represents an average increase of 5.4% over the three-year period. The agreement applies to federal employees as well as to states and municipalities.
